Registration Fee Breakdown
St. Albert Rams Lacrosse continues to grow at a rapid pace, thanks to the fast-paced, exciting nature of the sport and the strong support of our community. Each year, the Rams Board of Directors carefully reviews the club’s financial statements, prepared by our Treasurer and Bookkeeper, to ensure registration fees are managed responsibly and in the best interest of our members. We encourage all members to attend our Annual General Meeting (AGM), where these finances are discussed in greater detail.
Why Have Registration Fees Increased?
The Canadian Lacrosse Association (CLA) has increased mandatory fees for players, coaches, managers, trainers, and executive members. These compulsory fees are collected through the Alberta Lacrosse Association (ALA) and apply to all lacrosse clubs across the province. These increases are outside of the club’s control and must be included in registration costs.
Where Do Your Registration Fees Go?
Your registration fees help cover the following key expenses:
• Governing body fees
Mandatory CLA, ALA and GELC fees for players, coaches, teams, officials, and volunteers
• Facility rentals

• Player development
Additional practice opportunities and skill development initiatives
• Equipment and supplies
Jerseys, Game shorts, pinnies, top-of-the-line goalie equipment, lacrosse balls, and other team equipment
• Club operations and administration
Insurance, registration systems, accounting, and administrative costs
• Marketing and club growth
Promotion of the sport and the club to support continued growth and community engagement
Supporting the Club Beyond Registration Fees
Registration fees do not fully cover the cost of running the club. To help offset expenses, the St. Albert Rams Lacrosse Club hosts an annual lacrosse tournament and runs a member raffle each year. These fundraising initiatives are essential in helping us maintain quality programming while keeping registration fees as affordable as possible.
